Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I'm Ryan Julie Perisho, MS, LMFT
Life can bring seasons of intense stress, unexpected hurdles, and difficult transitions that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and those you love most. Taking the step to seek support is a profound act of courage.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my goal is to provide an exceptionally safe, grounded, and attuned space where you can slow down, process your experiences, and safely step into a more empowered version of yourself. In partnering with you, I honor your unique journey, welcoming clients from all cultural backgrounds, faith traditions, and walks of life.
Rooted in Experience, Trained for Complexity
My therapeutic approach is shaped by over a decade of dedicated service in the human services and clinical fields. Before entering private practice, I earned my Master of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University and spent years serving diverse, high-needs populations across the Central Coast and the San Francisco Bay Area.
The foundation of my expertise was built on the front lines of community mental health. My background includes clinical and systemic work within:
Domestic Violence Crisis Shelters
Supporting women and families healing from acute relational trauma and rebuilding safe daily lives.
The Juvenile Justice & Foster Care Systems
Navigating complex trauma, building resilience, and understanding the profound pressures faced by youth and families under stress.
Public Schools & County Departments
Supporting adolescents, young adults, and families through high-stakes educational, developmental, and identity transitions.
This depth of experience means that whatever you bring into the therapy room, I am equipped to meet you there with a steady, resilient, and non-judgmental presence.
A Deeply Attuned, Evidence-Based Approach
I believe that philosophy shouldn’t just be felt—it should be backed by clinical science. My therapeutic orientation is warmly person-centered and strengths-based, meaning I do not view you as a diagnosis to be fixed, but as a whole person with inherent inner wisdom and core strengths.
To help you achieve tangible goals and experience true transformational growth, I integrate highly specialized, evidence-based treatments tailored to your unique mind and body:
-
Person-Centered & Humanistic Framework: The baseline of my practice. I provide an unconditionally safe, empathetic, and collaborative space where you are the expert on your own life, allowing us to uncover your inherent capacity for growth at your own pace.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT): To help you identify, unpack, and reframe the deeply ingrained negative self-beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to anxiety and low self-esteem.
-
Solution-Focused Frameworks: To partner with you in creating actionable, realistic steps forward during periods of overwhelming life change and transition.
-
The Gottman Method (Level 2 Trained): A world-renowned, research-backed framework brought directly into couples therapy to disarm conflict and rebuild emotional connection.
Together, we work to heal the parts of the self that feel fragmented, helping you move away from survival mode and toward lasting wholeness, boundary clarity, and inner peace.
